Hello-
I am building an addition to my house this summer. Part of my design incorporates the use of some white oak posts to support the porch overhang. I chose the oaks which are almost 2' diameter and will be about 8-10' tall. They were girdled about a month ago.
I like the way that the roots could be flaring out at the bottom before its cut flat. I am not sure how they would be fastened to the concrete slab. Is there a preferred method for this? Also, I will be installing it green, are there any problems with this?
Thanks in advance!
