Hey guys and gals,
I'm trying to book my flight and hotel for the March class. Just wanting to know where everyone stayed when they went. It will just be me and I don't have to go see anything fancy. Would it be easier to stay at the Harrah's where the class is or go somewhere else that is cheaper? Open to all suggestions.

Imperial. But don't look for a Wife there.

Haha no wife searching for me on this trip. Strictly business. I'm going to soak up all of the information I can, so that I can harass and annoy y'all on the members side.

I hope I don't get banned for saying this but those of you out there who aren't going to this class in Vegas, WAIT to take the class until they have one in Goldbar, WA, at the Wallace Lodge. Holy crap that place is incredible. The view as you walk out the front door onto the covered deck of the surrounding snow-capped mountains is something I'll remember forever. Stay right there at the lodge.

+1 that. That area of the Western Cascades is crazy pretty land. Beautiful hiking trails in the adjacent state park too.
Unfortunately, classes get held there very infrequently.

We stayed at the Quad, formerly known as the Imperial, right next to Harrahs. Since we didn't rent a car we were glad we could walk straight back after class. I found a package deal with our flights and the price was inexpensive enough. Don't expect much and you won't be disappointed ;)

Yeah, I can second that (Quad). I went to the class last Labor Day weekend, and found the Quad met my needs, but far from luxurious. I think I stayed on the 7th floor, but the elevator would not stop there. I thought about going to the 8th and walking down. And the stairways could be entered from any floor, but exit only on the ground floor. So how'd I "get there from here"? I found the other elevators did work fine. :-D
It was very close to the class, though, and I loved not worrying or even wondering about transportation.

I stayed at the Quad. 90 bucks total for 3 nights. It is 20 yards from where the class is held.

Me too, when I took it. It was Imperial at that time. Definitely book flight and hotel together, price it out.

Back a bunch of years ago the Boss and I went to Vegas to see what all the fuss was about. We had reserved a dirt cheap non-smoking room at the Imperial for 5 days. Got there an only smoking rooms were available. Man that room REEKED! first thing next morning we had our bags packed an sitting in fromt of the checkin desk asking for our money back for the rest of our stay.
They refunded us for the night we'd just spent and set us up in a sweet smelling monster suite that was like something from a gangster movie for the rest of our stay. Never had a room that nice before or since.
I suppose that place is getting a bit past middle age by now but I still liked the way they handled our situation.

I agree about taking the class in WA however, I believe the class we took in May of 2010 may have been the last one held there.

Was your class at Skip's house or Wallace Lodge?

Wallace lodge, but I have not seen another one advertised for there since, maybe I missed one.
They had one on the east coast right after ours.

You folks talking about the good ole days in Wallace Lodge is a lot like kids now talking about all the cool cars of the 80's.
Heck, I remember the place where class was taught before Skip built the big place.
And yet I ran into my prospective brother-in-law's folks the other day and had no idea who they were. Course I've only known them a year or two and been to dinner with them 4 or 5 times. The brain is a funny animal when it gets a few years on it.
