Hello everyone, I just wanted to make my first post and say how excited I am to have finally got the $$ and scheduling in place to attend the course. Signed up for Labor Day weekend so I will be in Vegas next week! Over 5 years of reading posts from others and dreaming and now it's finally my turn. Got 35 beautiful acres in Colorado that are just begging for an equally beautiful log home. Thank you all for the motivation and I look forward to the adventure ahead!

Opie --
Did you happend to buy your 35 acres from an auction site or 'cheap land' sites?

oh -- and welcome aboard.

JD, we didn't use either of those methods. I found a realtor in the area that I knew I wanted to buy and gave them everything we were looking for. After over 3 years we finally found exactly what we were wanting. Our realtor came highly recommended, was well known in the area, and specialized in rural properties. They did a great job for us. I just didn't feel comfortable with the auction sites, etc.

Well I'm a boot member! Thanks for the support from all the other members. For those of you out there still on the fence, coming from a guy that doesn't have a lot of $$ and was hesitant about paying for this class, just DO IT already. Two days doesn't seem like enough time to learn everything that you need to build a log home but you will get so much information during the course that your head will almost explode. You will get a nice book to take additional notes and the instructors do a great job of explaining everything, answering questions, and keeping the class moving along. The amazing follow on support that other members provide, through the member forums, etc., is something that you can rely on if any questions come up once you leave Las Vegas. I could go on and on but you get the point, I am extremely happy I took the course and you should take it too.

Another lamb that went to slaughter and made it out the other side alive and well. Give him 3 or 4 weeks and he'll be plenty sick of staying up all night on the member's side, catching up on the last 5 years.

Opie, Glad to have you aboard.

What u talkin' about? I'm still staying up all night on the members side (1.5 year after I took the course). Even last night I was researching corners until 4:30 am. U never get sick of it!

This brings up an interesting question. How many of you have read every post on the member's side? I have.
