We just finished the February class, all good information and a well assembled format. Two items of advice; 1 Wear comfortable walking shoes for the walk to the class, 2 Bring slippers to wear during class.

When I went, Jeff had already attended, so I knew the basic techniques already, and we were tag-teaming on taking additional notes. When I was up stretching my legs, I ended up trying to shoo quite a few people out of the kitchen who seemed to be unaware of the importance of information they were missing! :(

I just finished too, and suggest hiking boots, not shoes, it was pretty dang steep. If you aren't used to the cold, bring some long johns - although march may be more temperate!

I just signed up an hour ago. Will make flight arrangements in the AM. Never been to Washington State, other than 2 hours on a Tarmac on FT Lewis. Where ever that was.

Good question. I own very few cool weather clothes.

Heck, when I moved back to TX from FL this month I had to go and by some pants that went past my knees.

By the way, where should I look for a place to stay up there?

I stayed at the Gaylord House in Everet. It's about a 20 min drive. It was very good! There is a review of it posted on loghomebuilders.org. They give you a huge lunch for $5 more/day. Very comfortable, and the breakfasts were great! Hot coffee delivered to your door before you get up in the morning! And, it's only a few bucks more per night than a hotel (when you include the fact that you have to buy breakfast and lunche, in which case it's probably cheaper.) Ellsworth and Steve supply munchies (candy, cookies, I think fruit, coffee and instant cider.)

I had to drive up North a few miles past Everett (The exit for the Casino.) There is an outlet mall there. I had to buy long johns, so I wouldn''t freeze! Double socks too! Guess I am a cold weather wimp now-a-days (which is why I moved to Arizona.)

Sit in the front of the class, too, if you can.

usually the tempurature in March ranges from the mid 30's to low 50's. We have experienced lower and higher, but that tends to be on record years and not the norm (20's and 60's).

For us in the Puget Sound region, it is the very early begining of "Spring Weather," so if the sun is out during the day, don't be surprised to see locals in t-shirts. Although, you may think it too cold.

For your own comfort, come prepared with layers of clothing. Also, you should bring some sort of rain gear.

You will probably find that the morning is brisk and that it warms to a tolerable temp. during the day.

There are two ways it tends to warm up around Puget Sound, one is that the sun beams down and warms things up, like one would expect; the other is that a warm front moves in which usually means rain--this tends to be the more common practice for mother nature in this vacinity.

At any rate, come prepared for colder nights and mornings; with layers for the day and make allowances for rain. You will do just fine.

There may be at least two times that you will go outside for demonstrations. It was really cold, and I was glad I had gloves and a hood on my jacket. I think the ink in my pen froze, though.
