I have seen so many of us living in rural places, building in the country side, the mountains and I thought that perhaps many of you could be interested into American heritage breeds risking extinction so I would like to share this two links for all LHBA homesteaders
http://albc-usa.org/ The American Livestock Breeds Conservancy is a nonprofit membership organization working to protect nearly 200 breeds of livestock and poultry from extinction. Included are asses, cattle, goats, horses, sheep, pigs, rabbits, chickens, ducks, geese, and turkeys.
Genetic diverssity reassure the quality of what our families eat and I find that as I am much interested into breeding local and adapted as the old good times perhaps many of us would be interested too. My homestead is in the way of getting American Guinea hogs http://guineahogs.org/ when cabin is finished.
Wish that this link information could be of help to our community of log home builders and homesteaders.
thank you to stop by and read, be kind with the land
