It was asking for it! I think I see a smirk or a devious grin on the squash.

Why do I get images in my head of this squash up in squash heaven, talking with another squash saying, "...so there I was sitting on a shelf minding my own business...."
Sorry . . . . . . . . . . sometimes it's just better to not ask, and just smile & nod your head. :screwy:

Dave ---
Is yours a 'daylight' basement or a walk out?
I can't hit the photobucket site from work.
I'm guessing that it must stay about 53-55 degrees, making it a great spot for produce.
Was there any brown sugar and marshmellows added for flavor enhancement?

My basement is a walk out where about 7 feet is underground. Not only were there two squash but the red potatoes were ready sprouted and ready to plant. It's ver dry down there.
I peel and cube the squash then sauté in real butter for about 10 minutes then add about 3/4 cup of maple syrup and cover- no heat for about 10 minutes. Serve hot or cold. It's just plain good. The squash must be soft.
