I need to put a propane heater in my plans for county approval. I'm building a 32 X 32 two story, so how many BTUs do I need to look for to keep the county happy? We get down to zero in the winter there. Dec through Feb average about 40 high and 20 low.

Not sure about keeping the county happy, but I have a 30k btu ventless fireplace that will run me out of the house no matter how cold it gets in the winter time

I know it doesn't answer your question Bro, but back about 35 years ago when my Wife built her log home with her ex, the County needed an electric heat source. They screwed a couple of baseboard heaters on the great room walls and never ran wire to them. Sold the place that way when they split up.

That sounds a little like the lady that let the exhubby and his new bride take the curtain rods with them.
