I see...I violated rule #28...I apologize. I'll be a member in November.
# 28
The following activities are privileges of lifetime members of the Log Home Builders Association of North America and
should take place in the member’s only area of the forum: arranging to trade labor, volunteering labor, soliciting for help/advice on an existing project, and requests to meet in person or to view student built homes. This includes sending e-mail or private messages to our members. All such solicitations by non-members will be deleted and violations will result in the removal of your account.

No biggy. It happens from time to time. November will be here before you know it. (at least it will for me )
Not so sure it's always a no biggie - a buddy, who actually was the one to more or less direct me here at that, got tossed for doing the TOS thingy.
To bad in that I know he meant thing to be innocent question. Maybe he had some words with someone behind the scenes? He won't even discuss anymore and I don't share with him I'm still waiting for a class that works. lol

I live down the road from some of rckclmbr428's builds around Roanoke. Would visiting the houses he has for sell or the ones listed in his website "Wiley Log Homes" constitute a terms of service violation, number 28? I am working on getting debt free before taking the class. I have mentally commited to taking the class, but just don't know when I can take it. I don't want to get removed and locked out for violating TOS. Thanks for your input on this matter.

Ben, I'm sure there was more to it than you or I know. It's pretty far and few that folks get the boot. You need to make a pretty large faux pas before it gets to that. The thing to remember is, it's a privately owned site that has it's rules. If one disagrees with, and wishes to contest them, perhaps incessantly or belligerently, they have every right to dismiss that user. I'm not saying that's what happened with your buddy. It's just an example.
Another example in a different light: If a patron came into my restaurant which had animal mounts hanging on the walls, and that patron was an animal rights activist, and demanded that I remove the mounts, and makes a scene. The natural reaction I would have is to boot that patron from the establishment, which I have every legal right to do.
Exsailor, any means outside of the forums has no bearings on ToS. Of course! Anyone who goes to a home (LHBA or otherwise) that has a for sale sign in front of it is free to do so. LHBA has no say in that. Connections made outside this forum are just that. Outside the forum, and the forum rules wouldn't apply. (however, soliciting contact info on the forum, to say, call and make contact outside the forum, would be a violation, not unlike how this thread got started)
