    Lightbulb Log post base flashing

Hello. I have a question regarding putting some type of flashing at the base of our wood posts to make them look a little more presentable. We have a fantastic log home we build a year ago but the one concrete contractor was awful. The posts are round about 7.5 inch diameter. I have been racking my brain to figure something out. There are plenty of things for square posts but not round. Any ideas would be fantastic ! I'm trying to post a picture but not sure its working Thanks Dave https://postimg.cc/LYjv4bFD[/IMG]

I don't for sure know the answer but I hope it involves good airflow.
Every time I have strayed from the teachings of Skip Ellsworth it has cost me money.

While probably not appropriate for your build, other architectural styles have a similar need. https://www.lowes.com/pl/Column-cap-...ies/4294425042
At this stage of the game I think I would try and make a collar using this guy's approach https://www.homerepairtutor.com/porch-column-bases/ and then use a profile or contour gauge to tailor the hole to each post. https://www.lowes.com/pl/Contour-gau...ing/4294414309

Wrapped in stone would look great, be a bit of work though.
