    Lifeline Advance

I have a log home that we used Perma-Chink Lifeline Advance top seal on. We have had problems with it peeling after only a year or two. We are scrubbing and removing the loose sealer and reapplying it in those intervals. The home is 8 years old now and still is in good condition as long as we keep up with the reapplication.
The problem is only on the south and east side that receive the most sun. The north side and what is protected by the porch roof is still in perfect condition with no peeling or reapplication needed. I was wondering if anyone else has had experience with this sealer and if they had the same problem?

I'm sorry. We aren't using Perma-Chink on our build, so I'm not much help

    me neither, sorry.

    But I found this: https://www.permachink.com/resources...peeling-issues

looks like it might be due to moisture/improperly prepped surface when the sealer was applied.

How much roof overhang do you have? if it's 2' or less, I would look into extending it - it is not hard to do:

I see a lot of folks with log homes with 1' overhangs, and they try to rely on the chinking to protect their logs - I think that is just asking for trouble down the road.
