Exceptional Log Home Award: Jeff Cooley

We are pleased to announce that Jeff Cooley has received an Exceptional Log Home Award!

Jeff built an absolutely beautiful log home in Gig Harbor, Washington. You can tell that Jeff put tons of care into building his log home :)

He did most of the work himself while he worked full time at his regular job. He got the shell of his log home up in 5 weeks, and it took him about a year over-all to get moved in to his home. Click on the link below to view all the pictures, and hear more about Jeff's story.

Impressive. He did a great job of blending the metal and wood contrast so they compliment each other. Beautiful chinking job caught my eye right off.

Another great house! Nicely done, Jeff! Seems like it ought to be easy to sell that house! :D

I really like the asking price. He should make a handsome profit.
This is a very nicely crafted home. Take a look at the real estate page. There are some more photos.

The craftsmanship is breath taking! I love driving by Jeff's home, whenever I'm in town. It really is an inspiration to me! Great work, Jeff! I can't wait to see your next house! Keep in touch with the Association!

I first noticed the chinking job; fabulous! It looks whiter than the stock mortar recipe; it's also perfectly adhered to the top and bottom log. Do you know if that's a redone mortar job, or a flexible mortar, or what?

What a great job!! I too would love to get some additional details on his chinking job, it is one of the neatest I have ever seen. It would be great if Jeff could pass along his technique or give some hints, that is how I imagine mine in my head, but sometimes things don't turn out like we think they will.
