    Creative Staircases

My daughter stumbled upon this list of 25 creative staircases. Some pretty cool stuff. And a few downright scary ones.

    Enjoy!

And yet, somehow they missed the coolest staircase of all... The handmade staircase that leads to the handmade loft in a log home that was crafted with the owners own loving hands.

There are some really cccoooool stairs there, Longhair. But none that will compete with yours.

There's some nice ones in there Longhare.

Here's a great how-to on unique stairs I learned quite a bit from that I actually think is possible for us mere mortals to replicate and could look good in a log home.

That website also has a how-to on making Loretto Chapel style, double helix, stairs which is at least worth the read. It also has how-to articles on making those cantilevered stairs similar to the ones in your link.

Although I think what Roy did with stairs around a log is the coolest so far in a log home.

I couldn't find a picture of Roy's finished stairs, but here's the idea.

    Cool huh?

I took that photo last year while hiking Mt LeConte in the Smoky Mountains National Park, on Alum Cave Trail.
