Beetle killed logs are discussed in the class. It has also been discussed in the members section of this forum.
Don't get ahead of yourself buying stuff before taking the class as Hemlock suggested.
There are a lot of variables to determine the amount needed.
The class will cover ways for you to get logs and at different costs. I'd wait till after you take the class (its only a week away) and then use the ideas they'll teach you to try and obtain logs.
