Log / beam connectors

Are there any proprietary connectors to connect a timber log piers to dressed timber joists, as there are for timber to timber (e.g., Simpson Strong Tie)? Looking to install diagonal timber bracing on an existing home which has round piers supporting a traditionally framed timber home to add stiffness against sway. At present, among other thoughts, am considering designing semi-circular steel plates to partially jacket the piles to enable a connection to the timber diagonal but this would be overkill for connector strength, aside from the cost. probably. I just searched for "log home metal brackets" and there are quite a few "custom" folks out there who will make them for you.

Most of us on this forum are DIY'ers, so that's probably why nobody dares answer you. :) No offense meant. I've been looking at this post for days trying to figure out how to help you. Can't think of much, so sorry about that. I'm planning on welding my own brackets out of c-channel

My advice: find some dirty little steel shop that works on your city's dump trucks, and ask them what they recommend. That's what I did- those guys are usually pretty smart, and can fix you up with exactly what you need, or at least tell you where to find it.

I think mudflap answered the question 99.99%. Something fabricated out of angle iron. Or just send some lag bolts thru the wood and call it done.
