Part II: rafters up new crane guy

by mudflap on 10-16-2018 at 06:01 AM
We hired a different crane company to help put up the rafters- it went so much better, the difference was unbelievable.

part I: ridge pole up but what a struggle

by mudflap on 10-09-2018 at 04:35 AM
Blog post about getting the Ridge Pole up.

Learn from my mistakes: have the crane set the RP up on the RPSL's, MARK IT, then take it back down and cut a nice big flat spot where it will sit on the RPSL's. Also spike it with 2 pieces of rebar, instead of just 1. Anyway, enjoy!

Hi everyone, I made a new blog post: cutting rafters.

Hopefully, I'll be installing my RP in less than 2 weeks.

RPSL's are in place! yay!

talked to the neighbor last night- she's letting me get about a dozen more trees from her property for use as rafters. I'm bringing her stuffed-shell lasagna. She says it's a fair trade.
