WINDS of CHANGE

My original plan was to build a simple homeless shelter out of logs (for my tribal community) then farther down the road, after gaining more log construction experience, I would build a wonderful log home for my large family. (All the while I would share my knowledge with anyone who wanted to build their own log home.) However, the plans were waylaid and I was growing frustrated and depressed over it. But then my eldest daughter, who is 21 and fairly introverted, asked if I could build her a log home of her own.

The prospect of building a home for my daughter, who has little opportunity in her life at this time, brought on a new spirit to me building a log home. It's become more important somehow. AND it's renewed my energy to keep the dream alive!

So here we go, again. As it's said in the Cheyenne Language, "Nahut!" (Let's go!)

  1. BOOM CRASH... delay

Ok, this blog is more or less a journal for me, as I go through the planning, development and actual construction of my first build. Previously I blogged about a shift in direction and beginning the logging process. Now I'm just posting that, being of limited funds and resources, I was still determined and positive about everything -- UNTIL two nights ago my daughters struck a horse on the road at night and (they're not hurt) rendered my little white pony (a 94 ford ranger) inoperable.
