We are pleased to announce that Jim & Paulie Dale have received an Exceptional Log Home Award!

This is a really beautiful log home that was built by Jim and Paulie about 10 years ago.

It was built with with gorgeous Cedar trees that were logged from the builder's own property. The Cedar trees, with their flared bases and cool surface features, really add some wonder character to the home.

I hope you all enjoy the pictures :)

Wow, Ellsworth, another beauty!

And isn't this an interesting inspiration to those who don't want to "build square" because it's boring?

Lots of interesting details, especially that cool staircase! And it seems like a lovely cheerful house for the rainy Pacific Northwest!

Working on that roof must have been a bear, though!!!!

Sorry to hear about Jim, but I join you in sending compliments and good wishes to the family.

Thanks for finding us another lovely house to oooh and aaaah over. (Looks like you two were scouring the countryside over Christmas for the festively decorated ones? Good strategy!
:D )

Hey,

Everytime I look at one of the student homes of the month, it really gives my enthusiasm a boost. I can hardly wait to begin.

What is the purpose of the chains in the photo of the kitchen... http://www.loghomebuilders.org/log-homes-jpd-02.jpg ? Astetics or function?
Is there any written info about how long or how much it cost?
Thanks.

Wow, it looks like those chains are anchored into the wall logs and support the second floor girders. You can see that the end of the girder does not penetrate the wall. Creative design!

I love that flowing staircase too.
